START BUTTON: Left click once the Start
button on the taskbar to access an options menu

Shut Down is the most important -- SHUT DOWN your
system when you are done for the day-- DO NOT just turn it off at the CPU.
The CPU will turn itself off or you will be prompted that it is safe to
turn off your computer.
** Remember that you can open several windows of the same
application. To elevate possible problems however, just open new files/documents
within the application and window back and forth (with the Window
drop-down menu) between them. MS Access 97, however, will only open
one database at a time. Thus, you would have to open the application twice
to work on more than one database at a time -- use the taskbar to window
back and forth. Back to

Another option is to resave the file in a new location:
While still in the application (Word, Excel, Microsoft
Works, etc.) and after you have saved all changes made and are ready to
close the file/document; you can make a back-up by choosing Save As
from the File drop-down menu and change the location (Save in: box) to
a new target path. For example if your file was originally saved
on the hard drive in My Documents, change the path to the Floppy Drive
A:/ and click Save. It is your option to change the name of the file/document
-- you can keep it the same in both locations.

AS/400 Entry Tips:
-
When you first turn on your computer a Windows Sign On box
will appear (after your school sign on if you have one). Make sure
YOUR AS/400 user ID is in the User Name box, Tab into the Password box
and type your AS/400 password, Click OK or hit your enter key. The
next box will just confirm the password that you entered previously.
The cursor will be blinking inside the second entry box -- just retype
your password and click OK or hit your enter key. If you have signed
in correctly at this point you will be able to double click on the AS/400
icon and open your AS/400 session without re-entering your user name and
password. (You will have to enter your user name and password, however,
on the actual Sign On AS/400 screen)
-
Once in the AS/400 everything should be the same
Minor Differences:
To perform a Print Screen that will go directly to
your printer: with the screen in view, click File drop down menu and
click Print Screen
To perform a Print Screen that will go into your Spooled
Files: with the screen in view, right click anywhere on the screen;
an options menu box will appear; click the Pad2 option at the bottom; in
the second column - first choice will be HostPrn, click this choice and
the screen print will go through the system to your spooled files
